Monday Evening Muse – Summer Is Back

But it left the humidity behind for today at least…The weather station on the shelf tells me that as the sun sets in the west the temperature is still floating at 86°. Amazingly the humidity is reading 37%…Lord it’s hot for May. The prognosticator on the radio during my drive home was projecting mid 90’s for the high tomorrow.

Supper is cooking and the house is fuller than most evenings, but I am all alone and expect to have a quiet evening as there are four women in the living room watching “Dancing With the Stars”. Just call me a DWTS widower…Two nights a week with little or no hassles as the house is occupied with Ballroom Dancing fanatics. Makes for a good evening with a book or to play on the web…

Speaking of supper, Lynne Rossetto Kasper and Sally Swift’s new book How to Eat Supper is out and they are podcasting over at The Splendid Table. I catch every episode of both shows on iTunes each week. She also has a couple of newsletters that come in handy. I have become addicted to podcasts…food podcasts, wine podcasts, book podcasts, even political podcasts. It’s how I pass the time at work…
