Storm warnings posted for parts of Gulf Coast | Chron.com – Houston Chronicle

MIAMI — Tropical storm warnings were posted today for parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast as a subtropical depression formed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. At 10 a.m. CDT, the depression had top sustained winds of about 35 mph. The warning extended from Apalachicola, Fla., west to the mouth of the Mississippi River, including New Orleans, the National Hurricane Center said.

In central Florida, severe weather spun off from the storm — including a possible tornado — damaged about 50 homes in Eustis.

It looks like Houston will miss the worst of another one.
