We are starting an update of our bathroom today. I went in to this project with some misgivings. Today’s start has not made these misgivings go away.
Realize please, our house predates electricity and most probably indoor plumbing. So needless to say the house only has one bathroom. It was probably updated last some time in the sixties and just maintained since. Once we moved in we always wanted to add another and update the one. By the time the finances were right the family was reaching the time to start leaving the nest, but the time needed to complete a redo just hasn’t been there.
Well, we bit the bullet and signed up with a contractor to have the job done over a two – three day span, at least to the point of being usable if not complete. They were to be starting this morning and we planned a night or two around the corner in a motel while the job was done. As of noon today they haven’t started, which explains my continued misgivings…
So if I go away for a couple of days here…don’t worry (at least not too much) I’ll be back as soon as we can get back into the house. If I can find the time and the access though, I’ll keep you informed.
