Saturday on the Back Porch

At eight am on a Saturday morning the temperature has already passed the mid seventies on it’s way to the upper eighties. The only difference between today and yesterday is it doesn’t feel as humid here on the back porch.Backyard, May 14

A frog lives in a plastic container we have on the corner of the porch to store the grandkid’s toys. Every ounce and a while, he lets out a call for rain. His vocalizations are so loud they always startle me.

Between the frog, the birds, and my podcasts playing on this tablet I am typing on, the back porch is seldom quite. Unless, that is, I decide to turn off the podcasts…

Oh well, it’s Saturday and time to move of the porch. Have a great weekend…

  1. Summer’s here. I know this because I’m eating freshly picked blackberries and blueberries — sort of a consolation prize for missing strawberry season.

    1. I always consider it summer once the overnight low stays above 70. From the forecast, we will get at least another week of lows just under that mark… Now I’m in the waiting for fall mode.
