We Have a New Visitor

For the past couple of weeks I have been noticing a new bird at the feeders…

Pine Warbler

At first I thought I was seeing a brighter version of the American Goldfinches that flock to the feeders all winter long. I was only catching quick glimpses out of the corner of my eye as I worked at my desk. But the brightness of the color in the middle of the winter left me wondering. It took me a few days to actually catch a good look… Then a couple of more while I stared at the photos in the guides and the online bird sites… But,I think I have an ID. It looks like I have at least one Pine Warbler visiting me this winter.

They are indigenous to our area in the winter. They even are known for visiting feeders.
